In today’s episode, Cyprus recorded a daily record of Covid cases on Monday with 1,925 people testing positive.

A new record for the number of tests done in one day was also recorded at 121,127 PCR and rapid tests. This resulted in a positivity rate of 1.5 per cent.

In other news, a 44-year-old man who was detained for six days in connection with a hit-and-run in which a 60-year-old woman died has been referred by the Paphos court for trial on February 3.

Elsewhere, around 130 Turkish Cypriots will be interviewed on Tuesday for jobs in the Republic under a recent deal between the main trade unions on both sides to help ease labour shortages, especially in the hospitality sector.
