Coronavirus: Cabinet to hold emergency meeting

An emergency cabinet meeting has been convened for 6pm on Wednesday to decide measures aiming to halt the spread of Covid, as the number of infections hit record highs for two consecutive days.

The cabinet will convene after a scheduled meeting between the health minister and government advisors.

It follows record spikes in daily infections for two days running, to 2,241 on Tuesday and close to 2,000 the previous day.
