At a press conference held on March 29, Alphamega Hypermarkets and Petrou Bros Dairy Products Ltd announced the continuation of their existing CSR collaboration, in support of local charities that help elderly women.
The collaboration, which this year celebrates its fifth anniversary, honours all Cypriot grandmothers for their nurturing role in the family institution and important contribution to society, via financial aid to charities that help seniors. Since beginning their joint effort in 2018, Alphamega and Petrou Bros Dairy Products have backed four different charities with grants totalling 20,000 euros.
This year, the two organisations are supporting ‘Ayios Dimitrianos’, a Dali-based charity of similar aims.
At the press conference, the two organisations invited the public to champion this new effort by buying ‘Alambra’ and ‘Yiayia’ products from Alphamega Hypermarkets, over the March 24-April 26 period, as part of the proceeds will be donated to the charity.
The new initiative is a common element of both organisations’ CSR programmes, which implement activities with a social mission in support of elderly people and other vulnerable groups.
The press conference was covered by local media and addressed by Alphamega Chief Communications and CSR Officer Natasa Constantinidou and Petrou Bros Dairy Products Commercial Manager Michalis Petrou.
