Lidl Cyprus strives always to demonstrate consistent commitment to equality and diversity via its existing procedures, corporate practices and the development and growth of its people.

The company plans family-support actions by offering additional benefits to every new mum and dad. Such actions are powered by the belief that the more family-oriented the environment, the more parents there will be. Which is why Lidl embraces Mother’s Day not just on May 8, but on every day, by offering equal opportunities, equal possibilities for progress and equal pay. In other words, it takes action.

And wishing to offer even more support to new mothers returning to work, Lidl Cyprus has now set up its first Lactation Room. This space was created by #teamLidl to support every new mother in her fresh role so that returning to work can be as pleasant an experience as possible.

“We design actions that bolster gender equality and support for the family,” said Lidl Cyprus HR head Yiannis Epaminondas. “We provide new mothers with a work environment that respects and supports motherhood.

“To this end, we created the first lactation room to provide every new mother at our offices and Logistics Centre the best possible conditions for returning to work.”

Lidl Cyprus has signed the Diversity Charter reasserting its commitment to maintaining an inclusive and diverse work environment, free of direct or indirect discrimination and stereotypes.

It is also the only company in Cyprus, regardless of sector, to receive Top Employer certification for 2022 from the international Top Employer Institute. This is the fifth consecutive year the company was certified, with the award coming as a result of a holistic set of actions, placing Lidl’s people front and centre.

Meanwhile, the 371 women (56 per cent of Lidl Cyprus’ employees) who are members of its large team, are also the company’s greatest affirmation of each of its actions.
