One death per day from coronavirus is recorded, according to a member of the scientific advisory group in Cyprus, Michalis Voniatis.

Speaking to Cybc on Saturday, Voniatis explained that the number of deaths have increased and mostly involve people over the age of seventy years old.

Voniatis reassured the public that there will not be a huge new wave of the coronavirus and there should be no panic.

However, he urged people belonging to vulnerable groups to take precautionary measures, such as wearing a mask in places of increased congestion.

He also called on vulnerable groups and people over the age of sixty to get vaccinated with the fourth dose of the jab.

“There is contagiousness of the virus and those who received a vaccine dose six months ago are not covered,” he warned.
