Suspected car thief arrested in Paphos district

Police on Monday night arrested two men, aged 20 and 20, for possession of burglary tools in Paphos district.

Members of the Stroumbi – Panayia police station on theft patrol, spotted a suspicious parked vehicle and the two men, around 10.40pm on Griva Digeni Avenue in Polemi.

During the subsequent background checks police identified the 20-year-old as having an outstanding warrant against him, related to car and other thefts and vehicle arson.

Body checks turned up a small amount of cannabis in the possession of the 28-year-old, while in a search of the car, burglary tools, a dagger, a metal detector, and two knives were found.

The men were arrested and taken into custody while police continue investigations.
