The 50 cardboard containers were located in the warehouse of a company in Larnaca. Inside the drums police found what was described as a “crystalline substance” weighing a total of 500kg.

No arrests have been made to date. Investigations are ongoing.

According to media reports, the discovered substance is methedrone – used to make hard drugs such as crystal meth and synthetic cocaine.
