The number of job vacancies surged by 3,100 positions, marking a substantial 33.8 per cent increase during the third quarter of 2023, reaching a total of 12,274, compared to the same quarter in the previous year, which recorded 9,174 vacancies, according to a report released this week by the state’s statistical service.

However, in comparison to the second quarter of 2023, there was a slight decrease of 753 positions, accounting for a 5.8 per cent reduction.

The percentage of job vacancies concerning the total number of employees and available positions during Q3 2023 stood at 2.9 per cent.

This was identical to the previous quarter’s rate, while a year ago, in Q3 2022, it was notably lower at 2.2 per cent.

When looking at specific sectors, the statistical service highlighted that the highest rates of job vacancies in Q3 2023 were observed in Administrative and Support Activities (4.5 per cent), Information and Communication (4.0 per cent), and Accommodation and Food Service Activities (3.9 per cent).
