The cabinet on Wednesday approved the creation of 1,000 charging stations for electric vehicles.
The transport ministry is responsible for dealing with implementation of the project, which is intended to encourage wider electric vehicle adoption.
The project is part of the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan, with a policy focus on the rapid transition to a green economy: sustainable transport and its implementation will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants.
The budget available for the project is €2.5 million.
The project is aligned with the ministry’s commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote the use of sustainable technologies.
