Police investigating car fire in Pissouri

Police on Wednesday are investigating a car fire in a residential area of Pissouri in Limassol, which completely destroyed the vehicle.

According to the police press office spokesman, the fire broke out at 2.20am on Tuesday morning and police and firefighters sped to the scene.

The scene was cordoned off and investigations into the exact causes of the blaze are ongoing. To date no evidence has been secured to determine whether the fire was set maliciously or was due to an electromechanical fault.

The vehicle had been parked by its owner outside her residence earlier in the afternoon.
