City Friends Club, a non-profit charity, is expanding its presence with the opening of its new office in Paphos. Here, the organisation has partnered with Lumio Private School, an international non-profit institution that shares City Friends Club’s commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.

The Paphos office started its activities with monthly community cleanup events, with the next cleanup having already taken place at Vrexi Beach on December 7, 2024. The office is being managed by a local representative, equipped with a dedicated trash truck to enhance waste collection efforts. Further plans include organising corporate cleanups to encourage local businesses to participate actively towards preserving the environment.

Meanwhile, in collaboration with Lumio Private School, City Friends Club will develop educational projects aimed at inspiring students to become environmental stewards. These initiatives will encourage the next generation to take responsibility for nature and contribute to a more sustainable future.

City Friends Club is actively seeking additional partners in Paphos to expand its impact, and to launch additional projects here, including Coffee Friends Club and Graffiti Friends Club.

“With the support of Lumio Private School, we can expand our environmental initiatives and make Paphos a cleaner city. We see this as the start of a meaningful change, with Lumio Private School playing a pivotal role in this effort. Their commitment goes beyond nurturing their students — it extends to making the city and the entire island a more sustainable and inviting place for everyone. Together, we’ll inspire a new generation to care deeply for nature and bring us closer to a better future,” said Anna Gubareva, founder and CEO of City Friends Club.

“We are pleased to support City Friends Club as part of our commitment to offering students opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. City Friends will provide the students with opportunities to participate in environmental quizzes, beach cleanups and trips to ecological art museums as part of their learning. This partnership reflects our values of helping young people grow into well-rounded individuals who make positive contributions to their communities and the world around them,” said Colin Sinclair, Head of Lumio Private School.

About City Friends Club

City Friends Club (СFC) actively engages in daily street cleaning, organises community cleanups and promotes eco-consciousness via a range of educational initiatives. Based in Limassol, the organisation also operates offices in Larnaca and Paphos. Since 2021, the team has been actively cleaning key areas across Limassol with six trucks and 15 cleaners, and hosting regular monthly cleanups for volunteers and corporate groups in parks, beaches, and other public spaces. With professional cleaners and more than 3,000 volunteers engaged, CFC has collected 223 tonnes of garbage over the entire work period.

Educational efforts include the RE:SOURCE eco-art exhibition (4000+ visitors in five days), public talks, and initiatives like Coffee Friends Club and Graffiti Friends Club, all designed to inspire sustainable practices and environmental awareness. Meanwhile, the City Friends Club app, available on iOS and Android, enables 800+ users to report illegal dump locations, track clean-up progress and earn rewards, helping СFС plan events and analyse pollution trends across Cyprus.

Supported by eco-responsible sponsors like Flintera, Easy Brain, Palta, GDEV, Exness, The Island School, Lumio Private School, Puzzle point, Quadcode, Ecommpay, BSM, Adsterra, The Soul Publishing, Unlimit, Oleg Netepenko and others, City Friends Club raised two million euros in the first three years of work.
