December may be a time for celebration, filled with feasts, parties and lively gatherings yet it is also a time for spiritual devotion. Upcoming music events will bring religious melodies to audiences in Limassol and Larnaca through the mesmerising sounds of the organ.

Cyprus-based musician Anita Tomasevich will present a special December concert next week under the title Musical Offerings which will be a spiritual music concert from medieval to contemporary music. The organisers describe it as “a prayer, a meditation in search of peace and our human mutual connection and community.”

Special melodies will sound next week as Tomasevich presents a repertoire performed on the church organ. First, she will hold a concert at St Catherine’s Church in Limassol on December 18 and then at Larnaca’s St Mary of the Graces Church on December 21. On both evenings, heartfelt compositions by Machaut, Rameau, Bach, Andric, Ferarri and Beaudoine will sound. Among them will also be Kyrie Eleison from Messe de Notre Dame. Entrance to the concert is €15 and all proceeds will be donated to charity.
