A 60-year-old man reported his 29-year-old neighbour to the police on Thursday for allegedly killing two of his dogs.

According to the complaint, the suspect shot the dogs because they were disturbing his chickens and other animals he was raising. An investigation by Polis Chrysochous police confirmed that the dogs had been killed with a firearm.

Further examination by the Polis Chrysochous police showed that their deaths were caused by a firearm.

The 29-year-old suspect was brought before the Paphos court and charged with illegal transportation and use of a hunting weapon, use of explosives and causing harm to animals.

He was subsequently released and will be summoned to court at a later date.
