Police arrested four suspects in Limassol on Tuesday in connection with theft and illegal drug possession. Authorities launched an investigation after a resident reported that, between January 21-28, thieves stole nine water heaters and three water pumps from a construction site. Police identified a vehicle linked to the crime.

At around 11.00am on Monday, officers spotted the suspect’s car on a Limassol road and stopped it for inspection. Three men fled in different directions. Police managed to detain two of them, aged 30 and 28.

During the arrest, the suspects were seen discarding two packages containing methamphetamine, with a total weight of 12 grammes, along with two precision scales. Both men were taken into custody for questioning.

Further investigations led police to the car’s owner, a 31-year-old man, who was later identified as the driver. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was detained. A fourth suspect, aged 38, was also linked to the case and taken into custody.

As part of the inquiry, officers searched an abandoned building in Limassol, where they found five copper heater components, believed to be stolen.

The case remains under investigation by the Limassol criminal investigation department and the local drug enforcement unit.
