The total supply and use in Cyprus for 2021 balanced at €77.76 billion at purchaser prices, according to the statistical service.
The report, which covers the country’s supply, use, and input-output tables for the year, includes figures for both current and previous-year prices, with data from 2020 revised accordingly.
Business services accounted for 47.1 per cent of the total supply, followed by manufacturing products at 24.8 per cent and distribution and transport services at 10.3 per cent.
Other services represented 9.2 per cent of total supply, construction work 7.0 per cent, and agricultural, forestry, and fishing products 1.6 per cent.
Domestic production at basic prices stood at €53.39 billion in 2021, while total imports reached €21.48 billion and net product taxes €2.88 billion.
Domestic production made up 68.7 per cent of total supply, imports 27.6 per cent, and net taxes 3.7 per cent.
Imports played a significant role in the supply of manufacturing products, accounting for 44.4 per cent.
Net product taxes had a higher share in the supply of manufacturing products (8.7 per cent) and construction work (7.9 per cent) compared to other product categories.
Total intermediate consumption reached €30.59 billion in 2021, while final consumption expenditure stood at €20.38 billion.
Gross capital formation amounted to €5.10 billion, and total exports reached €21.68 billion.
Intermediate consumption had the largest share of total use at 39.3 per cent, followed by exports at 27.9 per cent, final consumption expenditure at 26.2 per cent, and gross capital formation at 6.6 per cent.
Intermediate consumption represented the largest share of total use in agriculture, forestry, and fishing products (52.6 per cent), manufacturing products (38.7 per cent), and business services (43.9 per cent).
Final consumption expenditure was the primary use category for other services, making up 88.2 per cent, with the remaining usage mainly divided between intermediate consumption and exports.
Construction work was primarily used for gross capital formation (55.6 per cent) and intermediate consumption (43.5 per cent).
Distribution and transport services were mainly exported (48.9 per cent), followed by intermediate consumption at 44.2 per cent.
