The first out of 28 traditional phone booths turned into a time capsule is welcome its first visitors in Agros village, where those who enter can travel back in time and learn all about the course of telecommunications in Cyprus.

The booth in Agros, presented on Thursday, offers virtual tours by scanning a QR code.

“The time capsule constitutes an emblematic reference point, where cultural heritage meets modern technology,” Cyta said in a press release on Friday.

The booths use solar power for lighting, in line with “Cyta’s commitment for viable development and environment-friendly practices.”

“This initiative of ours is not restricted to preserving history, but actively contributes to strengthening local development, enriching the tourist product of communities, such as Agros, and promotes the connection of people and communities through technology,” it added.
