Cyprus’ Construction Production Index prices for January 2025 reported a modest increase of 0.57 per cent from the previous month, according to the latest data from the Cyprus statistical service (Cystat).
What is more, this slight upward trend represents a year-on-year rise of 0.50 per cent compared to January 2024.
In the detailed breakdown by commodity category, notable increases were observed. Mineral products led the gains with a rise of 1.77 per cent.
This was followed by the collective category of wood products, insulation materials, chemicals, and plastics, which saw an increase of 1.04 per cent.
Minerals and electromechanical products also experienced growth, recording rises of 0.81 per cent and 0.62 per cent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the metallic product category faced a decline, dropping by 1.21 per cent.
Within this sector, iron and steel products experienced a notable decrease of 2.76 per cent, contrasting with a gain of 2.05 per cent in products made from aluminium and other metals.
Finally, electromechanical products showed mixed results, when electrical fixtures surged by 5.61 per cent, while heating and cooling equipment saw a significant downturn, declining by 7.10 per cent.
