A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Alex Pienkowski, will present its key findings from a recent visit to Cyprus at a press conference in Nicosia on Friday.
The delegation has been conducting an assessment of the country’s economic and financial policies as part of the IMF’s Article IV consultation.
The IMF mission has been in Cyprus from March 21, before concluding its visit on March 28, to evaluate the country’s macroeconomic stability, fiscal health, and monetary policies.
As part of this process, the IMF team will hold a press conference at 11:45 on Friday at the premises of the Finance Ministry in Nicosia, where it will outline its conclusions ahead of the publication of the “Cyprus: Staff Concluding Statement of the 2025 Article IV Mission.”
Under Article IV of the IMF’s Articles of Agreement, the organisation is mandated to oversee the economic, financial, and exchange rate policies of its member countries to ensure the effective operation of the international monetary system.
These periodic assessments provide guidance on economic stability, risks, and policy recommendations aimed at sustaining long-term growth and resilience.
