Sections of the Nicosia-Limassol and Nicosia-Larnaca highway will be closed for overnight works, starting on Monday. The works are expected to last until Thursday.
On the Nicosia-Limassol highway, works will be carried out at the exit for Larnaca between Monday and Wednesday, from 8pm until 5.30am the following day.
During the works, all three lanes in the direction towards Limassol will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the opposite lane which will operate with two-way traffic .
The exit to Larnaca (A2) will also remain closed, with traffic to Larnaca being diverted via the exit to Alambra.
These works involve resurfacing, the department of public works announced.
Other works will be carried out on the section between Governor’s Beach and Yermasoyia, from 9pm on Monday until 3am on Tuesday.
The right lane will be partially closed in the direction of Limassol and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
This work will involve cleaning the central island of the highway.
On the Limassol-Nicosia highway, the section near the Kalavasos bridge has been closed to traffic in the direction of Nicosia since January 30 due to repair works and upgrading of the bridge. Traffic from Limassol to Nicosia is being diverted to the opposite lane, which operates with two-way traffic.
The department of public works said this work is expected to be completed by May 15.
Police advise caution drivers, including staying alert to signage, driving at low speeds, and maintaining a safe distance.
