A 46-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in Paphos in connection with the attempted destruction of property with explosives.

The explosion happened in the early hours of Monday outside the offices of a company in Paphos, damaging the main entrance and the walls of the building.

Police investigations indicated that an improvised explosive device containing a factory-made firecracker had been detonated.

Testimony was secured implicating the 46-year-old who was arrested on Wednesday.

He was found to be in possession of 4.5g of cannabis and a knife.

Police investigations are ongoing.
