Hunter fined for being in the wrong area

A man was fined €2,000 for hunting in an area in the Paphos district where hunting is prohibited, police reported on Thursday.

According to a statement, members of the Game Fund spotted the 36-year-old resident of Paphos in a rural area near Peyia holding a doko gun on Wednesday.

He was taken to the Peyia police station where the gun and nine cartridges were seized as evidence.
