Coronavirus: Number of checks down, 116 booked

Police carried out 10,214 checks in 24 hours from Tuesday until Wednesday to curb the spread of Covid-19 and booked 116 individuals, including one business owner, for violations of relevant decrees.

According to police, 3,286 checks were conducted in Nicosia, 1,329 in Limassol, 1,407 in Larnaca, 1,337 in Paphos, 1,263 in Famagusta and 881 in Morphou.

Traffic police contributed with 665 inspections and the rapid response unit with seven.

The number of checks was down from 14,734 a day earlier.
