Fine with higher temperatures over long weekend

With a high-pressure system affecting the area, temperatures are set to rise over the weekend and on Green Monday, while dust levels are expected to be elevated on Monday.

On Friday, it will be mostly fine with temperatures rising to 19C inland and the south and east coasts and to 17C in other coastal areas, the met office reported.

The highest temperature in Troodos, where there was 2cm of snow in the early morning, is forecast to be 10C.

The weather will remain clear at night, when temperatures will drop to 5C around Nicosia, 9C near the coast and 4C in the higher mountains.

On Saturday, some high clouds may be observed and temperatures will rise slightly, fluctuating at levels close to or slightly above average for the time of the year.

On Sunday, temperatures are not likely to change while they will further increase on Monday.

According to Kitas weather portal, dust levels are likely to be above normal on Monday.
