Man fined €500, given points for speeding

A man driving at nearly double the speed limit was slapped with four penalty points and a fine of €500 by the Paralimni district court on Monday.

Police arrested him in Ayia Napa on Sunday after he was caught driving at nearly double the speed limit.

According to police, at 9.40am, the 46-year-old man was travelling at the speed of 124km/h on the road from Cavo Greco to Ayia Napa where the legal limit is 65km/h.
