Large number of missing persons cases remain unsolved

Cyprus police are investigating a large number of unsolved missing persons cases dating back to the 90s, including two people who went missing this year.

The most recent missing person bulleting issued, concerns 34-year-old Andreas Paschalis who has been missing from his Nicosia home in Yeri since April 13, 2021. He is described as average build, 1.78m tall with black hair and brown eyes.

Meanwhile, the search continues for missing 69-year-old Androula Pafitou Frangoudi from Larnaca who was reportedly last seen swimming in Phinikoudes on January 17 this year.

Also still missing is Janeth Banal, 46, from the Philippines who was last seen at the house she was working at as a domestic worker on November 14, 2020. She is described as thin, 1.55m tall with short dark brown hair.

The list, dating back to 1990, includes a number of Greek Cypriots, permanent residents as well as young people who came as visitors to the island.

Whoever has any information can contact the citizen’s line at 1460, or the district’s CID departments.
