Woman arrested five years after warrants issued

handcuffs 03

A 35-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of obtaining money under false pretenses on the basis of arrest warrants issued five years ago.

She is a suspect in five cases of fraud. Police said that they had received complaints from people who had given her money to invest which she never returned.

Initially, she would promise significant profits from a small investment. Victims said she initially paid out gains for smaller sums but after they gave her bigger amounts, she would disappear.

Paphos police are investigating.
