Man fined for smuggling fuel from north

ΛΕΜΕΣΟΣ – ΛΗΣΤΕΙΑ ΥΠΑΛΛΗΛΟΥ ΕΤΑΙΡΕΙΑΣ

A 45-year-old man was fined €3,000 after caught smuggling diesel fuel from the north, police said on Sunday.

According to the police, during a coordinated operation in a farm area in the Nicosia district, the man was caught at around 6 pm on Saturday smuggling diesel fuel to the government-controlled areas in a tanker trailer.

The fuel, around one and a half tonnes, was seized by Customers officers. The man was fined €3,000.
