Classic Waldorf salad with grapes, celery and apple

In this video, we turn the spotlight on a true classic – Waldorf salad. Named after the famous Manhattan hotel, it’s perfect as an appetiser or a light meal in itself.

Essentially, Waldorf salad is a fruit and nut salad made of fresh apples, celery, walnuts and grapes, dressed in mayonnaise, and served on a bed of lettuce. The apples, celery, and grapes can all be green, to harmonise the color palette of the dish.

Updated versions of the salad sometimes change the dressing to a seasoned mayonnaise or a yogurt dressing, and also introduce ingredients such as chicken, turkey, and dried fruit.
