Remand for possession of child porn

Paphos district court on Thursday remanded in custody for four days a 22-year-old man facing charges of possessing and distributing child porn online.

The suspect had been placed under arrest a day earlier, after local police were tipped off by Europol about case where a user on a social media platform was distributing child pornographic material.

Local police subsequently identified the user of the account as the 22-year-old.

The police’s cyber-crime unit is investigating.
