Suspected car thief remanded until July 6 (Updated)

A 28-year-old Nicosia resident who arrested on suspicion of car theft in the Famagusta area was remanded on Wednesday until July 6.

Police said the man, who was arrested on Tuesday has allegedly confessed.

In his statement to the police, the man said he stole two cars, one of which was found in his house and another that was found in the government-controlled areas of Famagusta following his directions.

He also admitted to a case of attempted car theft and a case of theft from a vehicle, police said.
