The BeSafe incentive scheme to convince youths to vaccinate unveiled on Friday has been posted on the website https://www.presidency.gov.cy/cypresidency/besafe.nsf/home/home?Openform and features a range of offers. It is also available on www.pio.gov.cy/coronavirus).

Panayiotis Sentonas, commissioner for the citizen who coordinated the effort, told reporters that on the list are offers from 13 companies and organisations, with the majority of incentives intended for those aged 18 to 30. Some organisations have set a different age limit, but not exceeding 30, he said.

“The interest of companies and organisations to offer these incentives reinforces the wider effort of the government to increase vaccination coverage among the young, who by vaccinating primarily protect themselves and at the same time contribute to expanding immunity in the community,” he said.

With the exception of one company that sets a time limit to the vaccination, offers from the remaining companies are available to young people, irrespective of when they were vaccinated. Details regarding the offers and the procedures to be followed are given on the website.

The Cyprus Football Association contributed 2,025 season tickets – 1,235 to top-flight clubs, 270 second division clubs, and 500 for the national team.
