Police seek suspected people smuggler

Limassol police said Thursday they were seeking a 38-year-old man in connection with people smuggling after he was linked to a migrant smuggling ring.

Police said two irregular migrants at a reception centre had alleged that last February, they had paid a compatriot €5,000 to arrange their transport to Cyprus.

The pair travelled to Istanbul and then to the Republic through the north.

The suspect allegedly drove the pair to Limassol for a fee.
