Police warn fireworks to be destroyed

Police announced that they will be destroying fireworks on Saturday at the Sha quarries, alerting people to the explosions expected to be heard in the area.

The destruction of fireworks seized by the police on various occasions, is scheduled between 5pm and 11pm at the quarries located near the village of Sha, in the Nicosia district.

During the destruction of these materials, it is expected that explosions will be heard, police said.

They gave reassurances they would take all necessary measures for such occasions and that there was no reason for concern.
