Woman, 70, rescued by lifeguards

A 70-year-old woman was rescued by lifeguards on Makenzie beach in Larnaca on Wednesday.

The incident happened around 7.30am when the woman lost her balance from a rock and fell into the sea.

After pulling the woman from the water, lifeguards provided first aid as the woman had swallowed water.

An ambulance was called and took her to Larnaca General Hospital for further treatment.
