Nicosia police late on Sunday arrested a 38-year-old man wanted in connection with 14 burglary cases after he tried to escape by jumping out of the bathroom window at his home.

Investigations led authorities to the house of the suspect in Nicosia where he was found on Sunday evening.

Police said the man, in an attempt to escape, jumped out of his bathroom window to the yard from a height of approximately 3.5 metres.

The 38-year-old was slightly injured and was transferred to the Nicosia general hospital where he was diagnosed with abrasions.

He was administered first aid and was released from hospital and detained by police.
