Drunk driver charged

The Larnaca district court set September 20 as the date for the trial of a 44-year-old man, who was arrested Monday afternoon for driving drunk at five times over the limit.

According to police around 2pm, Larnaca traffic police stopped the man’s car on Nikolaou Rossou Street.

The driver was tested for alcohol, with a final indication of 99μg%, instead of 22μg%, and was taken into custody.

On Tuesday morning, the 44-year-old was brought to court and charged.
