Police on Friday reiterated their public warning over a telephone scam following reports that scammers pretend to be Microsoft operators to access people’s computers and their bank account information.
In a written announcement, police explained the steps followed by the scammers.
They ask for remote access to people’s computers, or access to the bank details of credit cards saying they are tyring to remove a virus or install software that will supposedly protect personal data, police said.
The authority reiterated that people should be careful and never disclose their personal information to unknown persons over the phone.
