A first glimpse of artists in process

artists in process 2021 first glimpse

Have you ever wondered what really happens during art residencies and artists’ workshops? At times, it can feel that they are reserved only for the creatives, with the rest of the world only witnessing a snippet of their work during a final presentation. An event on Sunday will present works in process by seven Cyprus-based contemporary artists, choreographers and performers that have emerged from a 10-day period of intensive studio-based research.

Kestrel Leah, Anthi Kettirou, Alexia Nicolaou, Annie Khouri, Georgia Constantinou Clark, Marita Anastasi, Zoe Giorgallis are currently taking part in an Artists in Process programme guided by dance artist Mary Nunan. From August 28 to September 6 the artists have the time and space to deepen and expand their ideas through the guidance of their mentor and their presentation on Sunday is part of it.

On this first occasion at Dancehouse Lefkosia, the audience will be able to glimpse the works that the artists are creating. This presentation will provide a special opportunity to experience the range and diversity of each artist’s approach to creating and performing and will also feature a short-improvised ensemble piece directed by Mary Nunan.
