Post-mortems on two women aged 33 and 26 who died suddenly

Autopsies will be carried out on the bodies of two women who died suddenly on Thursday, one in Famagusta, the other in the Larnaca district.

One of the women was a 33-year-old mother hailing from the village of Frenaros. She was found dead by her husband at or around dawn in their home in Larnaca and appeared to have died in her sleep.

On the same day, a 26-year-old Bulgarian woman died unexpectedly in her bedroom. The woman was discovered dead by her relatives in an apartment in the Famagusta district.

Sudden deaths are extremely rare in Cyprus. According to data dating back to 2015, 0.8 such deaths per 100,000 population occur per year.
