A 24-year-old woman was arrested for driving six times over the maximum alcohol limit after crashing into a parked car in Larnaca, police said on Tuesday.

The woman, who was driving on Nikodimou Milona street in Larnaca, crashed into a car that was parked on the left side of the road, the head of Larnaca’s traffic police Haris Hadjiyiasemi told the Cyprus News Agency.

The incident took place at 3.15 in the afternoon of Monday, police said.

No injuries were reported while the young driver underwent an alcohol test with a reading of 133μg instead of the maximum legal limit of 22μg.

The woman appeared in court for the offences of drink driving and causing a traffic accident where she posted bail of €2,000.

The court also requested the social welfare services to prepare a report on the woman before sentencing on November 16.
