The Green party was forced to postpone its electoral conference on Friday after a court issued an injunction suspending the expulsion of one of its members.

The party said the conference was suspended for 60 days until the case was adjudicated. Earlier, the Nicosia district court issued an injunction suspending party’s decision to expel Sotitiris Christou in July of this year.

Christou filed a lawsuit because he wanted to run for the party’s chair during the electoral conference scheduled for Sunday.

According to the court decision, the conference has been suspended for 60 days to give time to the applicant to submit his candidacy and have time to run a campaign.
