Teen pedestrian hit by drunk driver

An 18-year-old was hit by a drunk driving while crossing a road in Akaki on Monday night, police said but was not seriously injured.

The young man was hit by a driver aged 60 who was later found to be driving more than twice over the limit of 22mg.

The incident occurred around 8pm on Monday night in the Nicosia village.

The 18-year-old received first aid at the Nicosia general hospital and was discharged. The 60-year-old was arrested.
