Four arrested on suspicion of theft

Police arrested four people after a Nicosia resident reported their wallet, which contained €200, was stolen while at a hospitality venue.

As part of the investigations into the case, police arrested three women, 22, 28 and 29, and one 22-year-old man, who were stopped for a check in Eleftheria square a few minutes after the incident.

The man had €300 in his possession, while the 29-year-old woman had €500 in her possession and a total of €2,670 was found in the possession of the younger woman

The group did not provide sufficient explanation as to the origin of the money, police said, and they were put under police detention.
