Speeding

A 40-year-old was arrested in Paralimni after being caught driving at double the speed limit, police said on Monday.

A police statement said that the man was pulled over by traffic police around 4.10pm on Monday afternoon.

“As he was driving at 108km per hour in an area with a 50km per hour speed limit, he was arrested on the spot,” police said.

The man was then charged in writing and released.

He will face Famagusta district court on Tuesday.
