Biker hospitalised after collision

A 32-year-old motorcyclist has been hospitalised in critical condition after the motorbike he was riding was involved in a collision with a car driven by a teenage driver in Limassol.

The accident took place around 10.30pm on Monday in Limassol when the car driven by a 19-year-old woman on Miltonos street was involved in a collision with the motorcycle of the 32-year-old man who was riding with a 20-year-old passenger.

Both riders were injured and transferred to the district’s general hospital, where doctors diagnosed the older man with head, lung, and leg injuries.

Due to the criticality of his condition, he was transferred to the Nicosia general hospital, where he is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit.

The younger man suffered a leg injury and was admitted for treatment in Limassol.

The conditions of the accident are being investigated by the police.

Both men were wearing safety helmets, while police carried out an alcohol test to the driver which came back negative.
