Escapee from police custody arrested in north

Reports said Wednesday a 24-year-old man who escaped from a Limassol police station early in September has been arrested in the north.

No more details were immediately available. The two sides have exchanged suspects before through the technical committee on crime.

The suspect was initially arrested by police along with another man, 35, on suspicion of possession of counterfeit euro notes and drugs.

The two suspects were arrested after 80 €100 notes, which appeared to be counterfeit were found in their possession.

Officers also found 3.5 grammes of cannabis and 0.4 grammes of methamphetamine.
