Paphos police arrested a 28-year-old man late on Thursday for carrying an imitation firearm and causing a public disturbance while inebriated.

The arrest took place after police received complaints that a group of people in Chlorakas were arguing and disturbing the public around 10.20pm.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found three people who told them that another man was threatening them with a gun.

Police found the suspect, aged 28, and confiscated an imitation firearm that he had in his possession.

He was arrested for causing a public disturbance while drunk, as well as carrying an imitation firearm to spread terror.
