Police on Tuesday delivered coats donated by the force members to Aglandjia mayor Andreas Constantinou to help the municipality’s goal of ensuring that no school child will go cold this winter.

Head of the police administration and human resources department Andreas Angelides delivered the children’s coats collected among the officers to mayor Constantinou.

Aglandjia municipality had called on people to donate coats that no longer fit their children to be given to pupils who cannot afford one.

The coats can be taken to a special area set up for this purpose next to Vienna bakery on Kyrenia Avenue in Aglandjia. The collection was to initially end last week but due to increased interest the municipality extended it until Thursday.
