A boat with nine male migrants arrived in Cape Greco on Tuesday afternoon, with one of them arrested as an alleged people smuggler.

The boat was spotted around eight nautical miles off Cape Greco at around 1pm. It arrived at the Golden Coast area some three hours later, escorted by a marine police vessel.

Nine men from Syria were on board. One of them was named as the people smuggler and was arrested. The rest were taken to the Pournara reception centre in Kokkinotrimithia.
