A 31-year-old man has been arrested as a suspect in a burglary in Peyia a week ago, while a second suspect is being sought in the same case, police said on Tuesday.

The burglary was reported to the police by a 48-year-old man who said his house in Peyia was broken into.

Thieves stole several gold jewellery items of an unspecified value.

Footage from CCTV cameras in the area showed two people who have been identified as permanent residents of Paphos, aged 31 and 33.

Police issued an arrest warrant of the second suspect.
